Abstract

78Sr has been produced by the 64Zn(16O, 2n)78Sr reaction using 160 MeV oxygen ions bombarding natural zinc foil. The half-life of 78Sr is 30·6 ± 2·3 m. The mass assignment is confined by measurements of the growth and decay of the γ-radiations at 455, 664 and 1109 keV in the 78Rb daughter.
