Abstract

Single crystals of lead tartrate were grown in gels by the reaction between tartaric acid and lead nitrate solutions. The crystals were found to form in three stages. Good dendrites were formed at the first stage. These dendrites were thickened at the second stage. At the third stage single crystals were formed from the thickened portions of the dendrites.
