Abstract

The Magneli phases (TinO2n−1) and Ti3O5 can be grown from Na2B4O7-B2O3 fluxes under equilibrium conditions if the oxygen fugacity of the coexisting vapor phase is controlled within narrow limits. Different compounds can be obtained by adjusting po2 over a narrow range.
