Rondorfite-type structure - XPS and UV-vis study
2015, Materials Research BulletinCitation Excerpt :The experimental and theoretical electronic structure of tetrahedrally coordinated Mg2+, Al3+ and Si4+ ions were used to qualitatively interpret the VB rondorfite spectra [48,49]. Peaks 1 and 2 arise mainly from the non-bonding O 2p contribution with much smaller Si 3p and Si 3d contribution of the [SiO4] unit [40,49,50] as well as Al 2p and Al 2s contribution originating from the [AlO4] cluster [49]. The contributions from the 1t1, 5t2 and 1e molecular orbitals can be found in the 7–9 eV range.
