2019, CortexCitation Excerpt :The receptor fields in area 1 are more complex, responding with sensitivity to motion and a higher degree of feature selectivity (Hsiao, 2008). Area 2 facilitates 3D object recognition in combining cutaneous and proprioceptive inputs (Randolph & Semmes, 1974). In comparison to the N/R group incomplete recovery in the PR group has been determined exclusively by the involvement of the postcentral gyrus.
