Emerging role of macrophages in non-infectious diseases: An update
2023, Biomedicine and PharmacotherapySurface nanotopography mediated albumin adsorption, unfolding and modulation of early innate immune responses
2021, Materials Today AdvancesCitation Excerpt :Macrophages are known to interact with albumin using their scavenger receptors [15]. Therefore, we used polyionosinic acid (PI) which is known to act as a blocker for these receptors [37,38]. dTHP-1 cells were incubated with PI acid for 1 h to block the scavenger receptors and were then added to the modified surfaces with and without pre-adsorbed albumin.
Airborne fine particulate matter in Japan induces lipid synthesis and inhibits autophagy in HepG2 cells
2021, International Journal of Biochemistry and Cell BiologyCitation Excerpt :The PM2.5 particles were stored in a freezer at − 80 °C. Some PM2.5 particles were treated with acetone to remove free fatty acids, PAHs, and DEPs, following the protocols of previous study (Obot et al., 2002). Briefly, 10 mg of powdered PM2.5 was suspended in 500 µL of acetone, and the suspension was centrifuged at 400 g for 5 min.
Acute kidney damage by PM<inf>2.5</inf> exposure in a rat model
2021, Environmental Toxicology and PharmacologyCitation Excerpt :We observed a clear increment in lung of the proinflammatory cytokines, IL-6 and TNFα. Thus, our experimental model exposed to PM2.5 present similar immunological responses in lung reported by other authors (Obot et al., 2002; Aoshiba et al., 2001; Griese, 1999). Inflammation mediators, like cytokines, are involved in systemic responses such cardiovascular effects (e.g. blood clotting disorders).
