More trouble with FGF23: a novel role in systemic immunosuppression

A recent study describes impaired neutrophil function as another adverse effect of the excessive levels of FGF23 found in the circulation of patients with chronic kidney disease. These findings shed light on the mechanisms by which chronic kidney disease leads to systemic immunosuppression.
