The objective of this prospective randomized study was to compare the clinical outcome after treatment with and without knee immobilization for primary traumatic patellar dislocation.
Background
Nonoperative treatment with knee immobilized in near extension has been proposed as a treatment for primary traumatic patellar dislocation, although there exists no prospective studies regarding the method of immobilization. The objective of this prospective randomized study was to compare the clinical outcome after treatment with and without knee immobilization for primary traumatic patellar dislocation.
