In Traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine, lentils are used in poultices for smallpox ulcers and slow-healing sores (Yadav et al., 2007).

This plant is traditionally used as a herbal treatment for stomach related illnesses, motion disease [2], and skin lesions [3]. Different pharmacological properties of P. khinjuk including anticholinesterase, antitumor, antidiabetic, antifungal and antimicrobial activities have been studied [4].
