2020, Earth-Science ReviewsCitation Excerpt :This model was supported by Lavrov (1968), Kvasov (1975), Lavrov and Potapenko (2005, 2012) who proposed huge ice-dammed lakes in Pechora and Vychegda valleys during MIS 2, with an overflow through the Keltma pass into the River Kama valley (Fig. 11). This idea was shared by Grosswald (1998a,b, 1999, 2009), Volkov and Kazmin (2007), Lyså et al. (2011, 2014), Larsen et al. (2014), Nazarov et al. (2015). An alternative model implies the absence of ice-dammed lakes and watershed overflows during MIS 2.
