2003, Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular AnesthesiaCitation Excerpt :It is therefore important to carefully assess the methodology and content of the cost-effectiveness evaluations of PAD before basing any policy decisions on their conclusions. Explicit criteria have been published to help assess the methodologic quality of economic evaluations, and a recent review found that those on PAD generally fared well in this respect.30 However, methodologic soundness, although important, is not all that is required to ensure validity.
