    And then Lancet had to publish an expression of concern because it discovered the results were a hoax (Horton, 2005). It was an especially difficult year for Lancet as it also had to retract an entire cohort study on oral cancer that was found to be fabricated (Horton, 2006). Because of the grave concerns about scientific misconduct the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) (http://ori.dhhs.gov/) was established in 1992 (Table 3).
