      Until the end of the 19th century, obsessive illness was considered a form of melancholy [23,24]. Some characteristics, such as excessive indecisiveness, worry, self-disapproval, and guilt, are common to both OCD and MDD [25,26]. In addition, OCD and MDD share not only common psychopathologic characteristics [26] but also treatment response to some antidepressants [27-29].
