Abstract
In this study, the effect of middle, side and corner openings on the reinforced concrete two-way slabs was investigated. Three reinforced concrete slabs with dimensions of 1500 × 1500 × 120 mm are physically prepared and then experimentally and numerically investigated using finite element analysis under vertical monotonic loading. In each specimen, the load capacity, displacement, cracking and failure patterns, ductility and dissipated energy are presented and reviewed. The results show that load carrying capacity and dissipated energy of slab with angle opening are more compared to other slabs. Also, there is a good agreement between the experimental and numerical results.
