Zusammenfassung

Bakterien haben komplexe regulatorische Mechanismen entwickelt, um die räumliche Verteilung von zellulären Komponenten zu kontrollieren. Diese werden anhand neuer Ergebnisse zur Positionierung der Zellteilungsebene und Regulation der Morphogenese in Caulobacter crescentus veranschaulicht.

Abstract

Bacteria have evolved complex regulatory mechanisms to control the spatial distribution of cellular components. This article highlights new findings on division site selection and the regulation of morphogenesis in Caulobacter crescentus that illustrate the underlying principles.
