Abstract

Highly selective C3 position controllable mono-Michael additions or di-Michael additions of indolin-2-one to 2,4-dien-1-ones are described. The method was applied to a wide range of substrates and demonstrated excellent tolerance to a variety of substituents. This protocol has advantages of high selectivity, high atom economy, high yield, and mild conditions.
