Estimating ternary viscosity using the thermodynamic geometric model

Abstract

In this paper, a new method for estimating ternary viscosity in terms of an extension of Chou’s thermodynamic geometric model[1,2] has been developed. This new method has been employed to evaluate the viscosity of the Au-Ag-Cu ternary system. Good agreement between the calculated and experimental data in the ternary system indicates that this approach can be successfully used to predict viscosity of ternary and multicomponent systems. Currently, this method requires less information than any other for the calculation of viscosity for a multicomponent system.
