Abstract

This article was written after our workshop of the same name at the International Conference of Child Psychodrama in Budapest in 2018. The article contains our reflections, analysis of sources and generalizations from our experience in psychodrama with children. We propose a classification of the reasons for the emergence of destructive roles associated with various aspects of group dynamics, with the needs of children, role conflicts and peculiarities of their development. The examples of practical cases from our work with children’s psychodrama groups are provided. In the article, we raise an important question: Where is the line behind which the ability to express anger in the game transforms into sadistic impulses? And when is such a game “constructive” towards the child, improving his or her Ego, and when it is destructive for the formation of his or her personality?
