Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag befasst sich mit alternativen Konzepten der Datenaggregation zur Leistungsbeurteilung wertschöpfender Einheiten. Ausgehend von einem kritischen Vergleich der entsprechenden Methodik des Centrums für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE) mit der Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) wird die so genannte NACHE als Kompromissansatz abgeleitet. Einerseits bewahrt der neue Ansatz als Modifikation der CHE-Methodik weitgehend deren Pragmatik; andererseits führt er zu sehr ähnlichen Ergebnissen wie die methodisch anspruchsvolle DEA. Auf diese Weise verkörpert die NACHE ein Bindeglied zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis der Leistungsbeurteilung.

Summary

The paper discusses alternative concepts of data aggregation for performance assessment. A critical comparison of the corresponding method of the ‚Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung’ (CHE), Gütersloh/Germany, with the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) leads to the development of the so-called NACHE as a compromise solution. The NACHE is nearly as pragmatic as the CHE method, while its results are very similar to those of the sophisticated DEA. Therewith, the NACHE represents a link between practice and science of performance assessment.
