Welcome to a new year and a new issue of TechTrends! I am continually impressed with the level of dedication our authors, reviewers, AECT staff, and the Springer team give to TechTrends, especially throughout the pandemic. I hope that 2022 provides some relief to all of us.

This issue of the journal is a special issue guest edited by Jill Stefaniak and Jason McDonald. The topic of the papers in the issue is Ethnographic Experiences in Learning Design. They describe the original papers in the issue in the Guest Editors’ Notes. I really appreciate their work putting this special issue of the journal together!

In addition to the special section, this issue includes some of our regular columns: A message from Ali Carr-Chellman in the AECT President’s Message; an informative update on the planning the AECT annual meeting in Conference Planning; Reimagining Technology, Creativity; Graduate Member Musings; and Leading Matters.

As always, if you are interested in submitting a manuscript to TechTrends, or if you want to be a reviewer, please contact me. Encourage your colleagues to submit their work to TechTrends, to read TechTrends, and to consider joining AECT!
