Abstract

The supported ruthenium hydroxide (Ru(OH) x /Al2O3) could act as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the aerobic oxidative synthesis of nitriles directly from alcohols or aldehydes with NH3. The observed catalysis was truly heterogeneous and the retrieved catalyst could be reused without a significant loss of its catalytic performance.
