Cytotoxic Effect of Palladium(II) Complex with 4-Amino-5-Methyl-2H-1,2,4-Triazole-3(4H)-Thione Ligand on MCF-7 Cell Line

  • Published:
Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal Aims and scope

Cytotoxic effect of a palladium(II) complex, [Pd(AMTT)2]Cl2 2H2O (AMTT = 4-amino-5-methyl-2H-1,2,4-triazole-3(4H)-thione), on MCF-7 cell line has been investigated. The cytotoxicity of Pd(II) complex was assessed in vitro by the MTT assay performed on MCF-7 human breast cancer cell line. The influence of complex concentration on cell viability has been studied and expressed as half maximum inhibitory concentration (IC50) values after 48 h incubation. For [Pd(AMTT)2]Cl2 2H2O complex on MCF-7 cell line this value is 0.925 mM.
