Abstract
This study investigated mediating effects on the structural relation among human resources (HR) policy and practices, supervisor support, and subjective career success for female Korean managers in industries including manufacturing, wholesale and retail, finance, and service. The study utilized the fifth Korean Women Manager Panel dataset (N = 1627). Results indicate a positive association between HR policy and practices and supervisor support and work meaningfulness and subjective career success. Work meaningfulness was also positively related to subjective career success. Finally, work meaningfulness mediated the relation among HR policy and practices, supervisor support, and subjective career success.

Effets médiateurs du sens du travail dans la relation entre le soutien organisationnel et la réussite professionnelle perçue Cette étude examine les effets médiateurs sur la relation structurelle entre les politiques et les pratiques de gestion des ressources humaines, le soutien du superviseur et la réussite professionnelle perçue des femmes cadres coréennes dans les industries manufacturières, le commerce du gros et du détail, la finance et la prestation de service. L’étude a été conduite sur la cinquième ensemble de données du panel des femmes cadres coréennes. Les résultats indiquent une association positive entre les politiques et pratiques en matière de ressources humaines et le soutien des superviseurs et le sens du travail et la réussite professionnelle perçue. Enfin, le sens du travail joue un rôle médiateur dans la relation entre les politiques et pratique en matière des ressources humaines.
Zusammenfassung
Mediatoreffekte der Sinnhaftigkeit bei der Arbeit zwischen organisationaler Unterstützungen und subjektivem Laufbahnerfolg Diese Studie untersuchte Mediatoreffekte auf die strukturelle Beziehung zwischen Human Resources (HR) Strategie, HR Praxis, Unterstützung durch die Vorgesetzten sowie den subjektiven Laufbahnerfolg koreanischer Managerinnen in Branchen wie Produktion, Groß- und Einzelhandel, Finanzen und Dienstleistungen. In dieser Studie wurde der fünfte Datensatz des Korean Women Manager Panel (KWMP) verwendet (N = 1’627). Die Ergebnisse deuten auf einen positiven Zusammenhang zwischen HR Strategie, HR Praxis, der Unterstützung durch die Vorgesetzten, der Sinnhaftigkeit bei der Arbeit sowie dem subjektiven Laufbahnerfolg hin. Die Sinnhaftigket bei der Arbeit hängte auch positiv mit dem subjektiven Laufbahnerfolg zusammen. Schließlich medierte die Sinnhaftigkeit bei der Arbeit den Zusammenhang zwischen HR Strategie und HR Praxis, Unterstützung durch die Vorgesetzten sowie subjektivem Laufbahnerfolg.
Resumen
Los efectos directos e indirectos del valor del trabajo entre las estructuras organizativas y el éxito profesional subjetivo Este artículo investiga los efectos directos e indirectos del trabajo en la relación structural entre política y practicas de los recursos humanos (RH), el apoyo supervisor y el éxito profesional subjetivo en mujeres gerents Koreanas de industrias, incluyendo manufactura, venta al por mayor, venta al por menor, financiación y servicio. Este estudio utiliza el quinto Korean Women Manager Panel (satisfacción profesional subjetiva KWMP) dataset (N = 1627). Los resultados indican una asociación positiva entre politica y practicas de los RH, apoyo supervisor, satisfacción laboral y éxito professional subjetivo. La satisfacción profesional estaba también relacionada positivamente con el éxito profesional subjetivo. Finalmente, la satisfacción laboral con sus efectos directos e indirectos influye en la relación entre la política y las prácticas de RH, el apoyo supervisor y el éxito professional subjetivo.
