It is shown that carbon nanotubes are formed with mechanochemical treatment of amorphous carbon, obtained by pyrolysis from brown sphagnum. Comprehensive studies are presented for sorption properties of carbon material prepared from sphagnum moss. It is established that the capacity for oxidation modification depends on nanotube formation production parameters, and carbon nanotube sorption capacity efficiency depends on the storage duration.
