The computer programs used to validate the thermohydraulic characteristics of equipment and parameters of fast sodium reactors in normal operation are described. The actual efficiency of heat transfer in the intermediate heat exchangers (IHE) in BN-800 is given, and a comparative analysis is performed using the calculated data obtained in one- and two-dimensional approximations. A heat-exchange surface margin is proposed, and can be used in designing IHE similar to the IHE considered in this article. The actual hydraulic characteristics of the first and second loops of BN-800 are analyzed and the running speed of the MCP-1, -2 pumps is determined. It is shown that the running speed of MCP-1, -2 is 5 and 8%, respectively, lower than the design speed. Comparison of the operational and design thermohydraulic parameters of BN-800 in normal operation showed satisfactory concurrence. The correctness of the start-up and planned shutdown algorithms incorporated in the BN-800 design is confirmed.
