  2. This is the Goldilocks Double Bind: We treat individuals with low desire trying to help those individuals develop intense sexual fantasies, urges, and behaviors, but we discourage fantasies, urges, and behaviors when they do not conform to societal expectations.

  3. Hypersexuality does not appear in the DSM-5 index, but does appear in the glossary, “A stronger than usual urge to have sexual activity” (APA, 2013a, p. 823).
