Notes
Beyond the modern West, one encounters a less psychologized but no less orientalized tapestry of phenomena, including bacha bāzī (بچهبازی, “child/boy play”), amrad-parasti (“loving amrads” or beardless males), naẓar ila'l-murd (النظر إلى المرد “contemplation of the unbearded”), wakashūdō/shūdō/jakudō (“the way of the youth”), shōnen’ai (“boy-love”), and (in a Japanese popular appropriation of Freudian terminology) rorikon (ロリコン “Lolita complex”) and shōtacon (ショタコン “Shotaro complex”).
Chronos may designate lifetime, but seems too disembodied to denote the particularity of life stage or time of life (Lat, aetas or aevum). For ancient Greek words related to age, aspiring neologists may want to consult Perseus Hopper.
