This article confirms other recent series: PEEK cages can be safely used in the treatment of acute spondylodiscitis; in the cervical spine, additional plating or posterior stabilization is required in case of weak bone adjacent to the spondylodiscitis (spondylitis), in the lumbar spine posterior transpedicular stabilization is part of the procedure. This reviewer follows the same strategy.
