Zyklusmonitoring in verschiedenen Lebensphasen
Abstract
Today women can effectively determine their fertile window and time of maximum fertility in the cycle without much effort. They are able to use this information in different ways.
Avoiding pregnancy
To determine the beginning and end of the fertile phase, two parameters are used, as a double check. The symptothermal method of the “Arbeitsgruppe NFP” is the variation recommended by the authors. It has shown method efficacy of 0.4 pregnancies per 100 woman/years as long as no unprotected intercourse occurs during the fertile phase. Thus the method is also an option for at-risk patients. With NFP one can determine periods of optimal fertility, even with irregular cycles, and optimize the diagnosis of ovulation and luteal phases.
Achieving pregnancy
With NFP one can determine peak fertility, even within irregular cycles, and optimize the diagnosis of ovulation and luteal phase.
Cycle monitoring in different circumstances
Cycle monitoring is possible over long periods of time in cases of cycle disturbances and hormonal disorders.
