Sechs Allergene sind nach heutigem Wissensstand von klinischer Relevanz

Hausstaubmilben gehören zu den wichtigsten Allergieauslösern weltweit. Während Milben der Gattung Dermatophagoides beinahe weltweit vorkommen, sind die tropische Milbe Blomia tropicalis sowie die Vorratsmilben nur für gewisse Gebiete beziehungsweise Personengruppen von Bedeutung. Die wichtigsten Allergene von Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus sind Der p 1, Der p 2 und Der p 23 mit IgE-Bindungshäufigkeiten von mehr als 70 % und hoher allergener Aktivität. Außerdem von Bedeutung sind Der p 5, Der p 7 und Der p 21, die eine IgE-Bindungshäufigkeit von etwa 30 % aufweisen. Diese sechs Allergene sind nach dem heutigen Wissensstand jene Allergene von klinischer Relevanz, die auch für die Diagnose und Immuntherapie mit Einzelkomponenten benötigt werden
