Abstract
Bonnet’s theorem relates the expectation of a nonlinear function of normally distributed variates to their expectations. It is shown that the theorem applies to a general class of distributions which includes the normal distribution as a special case.
Résumé
Le théorème de Bonnet lie l’espérance mathématique d’une fonction non linéaire de variables aléatoires distribuées selon la loi de Laplace-Gauss avec les espérances mathématiques de ces variables. On montre que le théorème s’applique à une classe générale des lois de distributions, la loi de Laplace-Gauss devenant alors un cas particulier.
