A guest lecturer in sociology at the State University of New York (Stony Brook), James W. Elsbery is a consultant to the New York State Department of Education and the author of several papers on sociological and psychological aspects of education.

Robert J. Havighurst has been professor of education at the University of Chicago since 1941. His article, “Metropolitanism and the Schools” appeared inThe Urban Review of November 1968. Among the books of which he is author or co-author areHuman Development and Education, Society and Education, andComparative Perspectives on Education.
