Direct electron-microscopy of organ cultures for the detection and characterization of viruses

  • Published:
Archiv für die gesamte Virusforschung Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Organ cultures were inoculated with viruses belonging to five different morphological groups. Cells and debris were abraded from the cultures four days later and examined by a negative contrast technique. All but the smallest particles were readily recognised. This method has been of value in visualising some recently isolated viruses.
