I am greatly honored and pleased to have the opportunity to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal, "Intelligent Service Robotics (ISR)," beginning in January 2023. Since its first issue was published in 2008, the ISR has rapidly grown and become one of the most prestigious journals in robotics recently. At this moment, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the outgoing EiC, Prof. Wan Kyun Chung, for his dedication and services to the ISR in advance. Also, I want to thank the Korea Robotics Society (KROS) for their confidence in me and allowing me to serve.

The ISR was intended to disseminate up-to-date discoveries and advances in robotic technologies and their applications in the service domain. Thus, it covers broad issues in service robotics, especially human-centered ones. For example, home or restaurant service, delivery, companion to the elderly or disabled, food and beverage processing, logistics in the form of AI, embedded robotics, edge computing, cloud computing, or intelligent space, etc., are areas typically addressed in the ISR. I like the theme; it was very timely and insightful, considering recent advances in robotics. The ISR tries to reflect the current robotics trends immediately and responds to readers' interests dynamically. I believe the momentum drives the ISR up to its current position.

As EiC, I would like to maintain the previous theme of the ISR during my duty. However, the following efforts will be carried out additionally. First, I will actively introduce the issues of industry, future trends, and innovative technologies. These will be implemented systematically in terms of special issues, reviews, and perspectives. In addition, the publication cycle will be drastically reduced with helpful feedback to the authors. I believe these are the basics of the journal. Fast publication while preserving the quality is the significant value of a journal to have a competitive edge. I will try to do my best to give satisfaction to the readers.

Finally, I would like to recognize the efforts of the editorial boards who have contributed to the ISR. Senior editors and associate editors are precious assets, and I would like to share the future of ISR with them. I especially want to thank Founding Editor Sukhan Lee and Editor-in-Emeritus. I hope their sustained attention and support could be with the ISR. Thank you.
