Samenvatting

Als je een moeder met een kind tussen 6 en 12 jaar op je spreekuur krijgt, is het wenselijk om het kind actief te betrekken in het consult. Maar dat valt vaak niet mee. ‘Ik kom voor zijn keel,’ is een uit het leven gegrepen openingszin van een moeder die met haar zoon de dokter bezoekt. De Engelse huisarts Patricia Cahill ging aan de hand van 31 op video opgenomen consulten na welke factoren de inbreng van het kind bevorderen.
