Samenvatting

Implementatie is de ultieme uitdaging voor de makers van richtlijnen. Hoe moeilijk het is het beleid van huisartsen te beïnvloeden, ondervond men in Noorwegen. Een breed pakket interventies werd ingezet om richtlijnen in te voeren voor de behandeling van urineweginfecties en acute keelpijn. Urineweginfecties bij niet-zwangere vrouwen tussen 16 en 55 jaar met typische symptomen zouden met antibiotica kunnen worden behandeld zonder voorafgaand urineonderzoek. De richtlijn voor acute keelpijn hield in dat meestal geen antibiotica nodig zijn. Bij beide patiëntencategorieën kan de huisarts zo vaker volstaan met een telefonisch contact.
