Zuurstofbehandeling onder druk?

Samenvatting

Hyperbare zuurstoftherapie is een behandeling in een speciale ruimte, waar patiënten 100 procent zuurstof inademen onder kunstmatig verhoogde druk. Hierdoor wordt veel meer zuurstof dan normaal in het bloed opgenomen. Aandoeningen die gekenmerkt worden door een tekort aan zuurstof, kunnen hiermee worden behandeld. In deze klinische les zal een overzicht worden gegeven van de achtergronden van deze behandeling en het op dit moment beste beschikbare bewijs vanuit de medische literatuur voor de indicatiestelling en effectiviteit van deze therapie.
