Onderrapportage van prikaccidenten bij coassistenten

Samenvatting

Eén van de meest bedreigende gezondheidsrisico’s voor coassistenten tijdens hun coschappen is de blootstelling aan bloedoverdraagbare microorganismen bij een prikaccident: een blootstelling die kan leiden tot besmetting met HIV, hepatitis B of C. Coassistenten lopen hierop meer risico dan artsen en verpleegkundigen door hun gebrek aan ervaring en beperkte vaardigheden.
