Summary
The chemical examination of the leavesRhododendron campanulatum D.Don. by extraction with solvents is described. Besides ursolic acid, quercetin and the saturated triterpenoid alcohol epifriedelanol, a new triterpenoid compound, designated as “campanulin”, has been isolated in reasonable yields. A few minor components have also been obtained.
