Abstract
Haploids were extracted from the tetraploid potato cultivars, Avon and Hindenburg, and subjected to tests of their resistance to the common scab disease. The distribution of Hindenburg haploids according to scab reaction was significantly different from that of Avon haploids. The former distribution was skewed strongly toward high levels of resistance in contrast with the large susceptible class among Avon haploids.
