Abstract
Cyathus bulleri decolorized the dye PolyR-478 in broth cultures and on solid media. The fungus produced a clear halo in the colored background on solid medium containing PolyR-478. The decolorizing ability of the fungus developed in the absence of the dye and it was not necessary to grow the fungus initially on lignin-containing substrate prior to dye decolorization. Decolorization was found to be inhibited by sodium azide and was not affected by medium nitrogen levels.
