Conclusions

1. A number of different methods have been used to study the material composition and particle size distribution of a gravity concentrate.

2. Several different processing regimes have been tested in the treatment of the gravity concentrate in a microwave field. It has been established that a processing scheme consisting of calcination followed by cyaniding gives a 94.8% recovery of gold from the concentrate, which is 8.3% higher than obtained in the control test.

3. A model has been developed for the process of heating a gold-containing gravity concentrate in a microwave radiation field.
