Summary
High-energy nuclear collisions in nuclear emulsions are separated according to the target nucleus involved. The method is applied to 136 collisions with a primary energyE>100 GeV. The mean multiplicity 〈N s 〉 as a function of the atomic numberA of the target nucleus is given for average primary energies of 250 GeV and ≈ 3000 GeV. The dependence onA andE is in agreement, within the limits of error, with the relation 〈N s 〉 ∞E .25 A .19 predicted by hydrodynamical theory.

Si suddividono le collisioni nucleari di alta energia nelle emulsioni nucleari a seconda del nucleo bersaglio colpito. Si applica il metodo a 136 collisioni di energia primariaE>100 GeV. Si dà la molteplicità media 〈N s 〉 in funzione del numero atomicoA del nucleo bersaglio per energie primarie medie di 250 GeV e≈3000 GeV. La dipendenza daA edE è in accordo, entro i limiti di errore, con la relazione 〈N s〉 ∞E .25 A .19 predetto dalla teoria idrodinamica.
