Summary
The authors studied the Diatoms living in various pools of a peat bog situated at 1,050 m above sea level, in the Swiss Jura mountains. 12 species, belonging to 4 genera (Eunotia, Frustulia, Navicula andTabellaria) are characteristic of these habitats. They form communities varying independently in each pond and they vary differently every year.
