Summary

A description is given of a one-man semi-automatic two-row potato planter for pre-sprouted seed potatoes, developed in the Institute of Agricultural Engineering at Wageningen, Netherlands.

Comparisons of first results with those from automatic potato planters — with regard to output and sprout damage — are highly promising.

The machine was taken into production in 1974, and for the 1975 season fifty machines were manufactured.
