Summary
The properties of n-octadecanol films on bare surface of glass capillary columns, leached with hydrochloric acid, HMDS treated and covered with BaCO3 have been investigated. Using the “inverse” gas chromatography method it was found that the structure of the n-octadecanol film distinctly depends on the glass surface preparation. The influence of the properties of the treated glass surface was particularly strong on the structure and properties of the n-octadecanol monolayer directly adjacent to the column wall.
