Efficient ion-exchange separation of americium, curium and californium using α-hydroxyα-methylbutyrate

Abstract

Efficient separation of Am and Cm was performed on a spheroid cation exchanger OSTION LG KS 0800 by elution with ammonium α-hydroxyα-methylbutyrate. Separation factors for pairs Am-Cm and Cf-Cm have the values of 1.8 and 8.
