The catalytic activity of Ni−V oxide catalysts

Abstract

The activity and selectivity of Ni−V oxide catalysts in relation to the phase composition were investigated. The catalytic activity was measured in the oxidative dehydrogenation of methanol to formaldehyde and in the oxidation of SO2 to SO3.

The oxide with the atom ratio\(\frac{V}{{V + Ni}} = 50\% \) gives the highest yield of formaldehyde and the slowest rate of SO2 oxidation. The above phase, as shown by X-ray and IR measurements, has a specific structure characterized by a weakened V=O double bond.

Была исследована активность и селективность катализаторов окиси Ni−V в зависимости от состава фазы. Каталитическая активность была измерена в окислительном дегидрировании метанола до формальдегида и SO2 до SO3. Окись с атомным соотношением\(\frac{V}{{V + Ni}} = 50\% \) дает наибольший выход формальдегида и наименьшую скорость окисления SO2. Эта фаза, как это подтверждается рентгенографическими и ИК спектроскопическими измерениями, имеет специфическую структуру, характеризуемую ослабленной двойной связью V=O
