Summary
The antibody-spectrum of renal tuberculosis, consisting of hemagglutinating, hemolysing, incomplete and complement-fixing antibodies obviously is depending from clinical status. Frequence and quantity of circulating antibodies are correlated with the degree of activity. Different forms of renal tuberculosis are characterized by different immunological patterns. The balance between hemagglutinating (Middlebrook-Dubos) and hemolysing (Middlebrook) antibodies is reflecting pathogenetic proceedings and allows predicting diagnosis and prognosis. The immunological aspect of the preceding type of tuberculosis is deciding the immunological aspect of following renal tuberculosis. It is concluded that the balance between Middlebrook-Dubos- and Middlebrook-antibodies is playing a central role in the course of tuberculosis.
