Summary
By precipitation of milk proteins with cadmium sulfate and by extraction with chloroform, a fast and reliable determination of aflatoxin M1 and M2 is achieved. The separation is performed by two-dimensional thin layer chromatography with diethyl-ether and acetic-acid ethyl-ester/acetonitrile (1 + 1). By derivate-formation, spray reagents and fluorescence spectra the definitive identification is assured; the detection limit is 0.04 ppb.
